As some of you know, I will be running my 5th marathon this month in Philadelphia, representing Team Big Hearts 2 Little Hearts. Team BH2LH is dedicated to raising funds for research and programs to support families of babies born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Please help me raise money for this life-saving program and research.
This November, I will be running my 5th marathon and raising funds for Team Big Hearts 2 Little Hearts. Team BH2LH is dedicated to raising funds for research and programs to help babies born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). It is an issue close to my heart because I have a family member born last year with CHD, and have seen how heart-wrenching it is for a family, what an emotional roller coaster, and the importance of keeping faith and hope through the most incredible odds. This little boy* was born in NYC but transferred to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia because of their world-class pediatric cardiovascular health program. Thanks to the dedicated staff at CHOP and funding for research into CHD treatments, he is doing well today, but his challenges are far from over. Please help me raise funds to continue research into helping more children receive life-saving treatment.
CHD is the #1 birth defect-related killer. There is no cure for any of the 40 types of defects, and little is known about what causes most of them. CHD research and programs are grossly underfunded, in comparison to other pediatric conditions. By raising money for CHD, we are offering more hope worldwide for children and young adults with CHD than ever before. I look forward to running the Philadelphia Marathon and knowing that I have contributed something to help make a difference in the lives of families impacted by CHD.
