Cassidy was born in May 2008. We were excited, nervous and overjoyed to bring our first baby into the world. After an extremely long labor our angel had arrived. As soon as she was born the doctors and nurses were very quiet. When I asked to hold her, they briefly handed us our tiny baby. She was blue and quiet. 5 hours later she was on a helicopter flying out of Lakewood over to the Cardiac ICU at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She was born with severe pulmonary stenosis. It was 4 days of monitoring her until she was taken in for surgery. She received a balloon catheterization to open the narrowing. It was 5 days until we first held her in our arms and fed her. It was 9 days until we brought our baby girl home with us. Our stay at C.H.O.P. was a whirlwind miracle. Cassidy continues to have follow up visits once a year and may eventually need another procedure. So far, every follow up has been a steady thumbs up from the very best local cardiologist, Dr. Alpert.
So…. We donate & support BIG HEARTS TO LITTLE HEARTS & support cardiac research with all our hearts. We are forever grateful!
