Joseph is a 13 year old boy with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. His condition does not stop him from living a vibrant, active life!
Even though Joseph’s condition is very serious–he essentially functions on “half a heart”–and he has undergone two heart surgeries at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, he is a very energetic, sweet, vibrant, happy, and friendly boy. Joseph loves to ski and play basketball. He loves fishing, camping, and swimming at the beach. Not long ago, Joseph’s condition would have been a very early death sentence, but thanks to the advancements in c.h.d. medicine, Joseph and so many others like him have hope.
