Fundraising for 2020’s annual Heart Walk in Manasquan.
Making a difference with each step – whether in-person or virtually!
On January 24, 2019, Joey was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD), Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Joey has undergone 2 open heart surgeries and multiple cardiac catheterizations to alter the physiology of his heart, in order to assist with the function and flow of how his heart pumps and passively moves blood throughout his body. Joey was recently at CHOP in August for a catheterization and “check-up” and with slight intervention is fortunately “looking good”. The scientific and technological advancements that have come before him, not only saved his life but has given life to countless others (our extended heart family). The future research and medical resources needed to keep these beautifully hand-crafted hearts beating relies on compassionate and empathetic donors, interwoven with brilliant pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons, doctors, researchers, and all medical professionals. We know that many are enduring an exceptionally challenging time due to the pandemic, yet we want to continue to raise awareness through fundraising since these are the compromised children in need of ‘custom’ protection from COVID-19. We are beyond grateful for your consideration and generosity to support a cause that directly impacts us and so many others daily.
