We’ll be walking virtually, along with participants who are walking live, in memory of our member Kathy Schmidt and for children like Tadhg with CHD.
Tadhg was born with Coarctation of Aorta, which is a congenital heart defect of the aorta He wasn’t diagnosed until he was 18 months old when his new pediatrician heard a heart murmur that was never previously detected and referred him to a pediatric cardiologist. He had heart surgery a month after his first visit to the cardiologist. He currently is still on blood pressure medication since surgery, however doing fantastic otherwise. If not for organizations like Big Hearts to Little Hearts, surgeons wouldn’t have the research funded, equipment or help they need to get the life saving procedures to help save and lengthen the lives of children like Tadhg.
